"Mail and plate coat (baju lamina)  Philippine, Moro, 18th century
This is the usual type of Moro mail and plate coat.  The plates are formed of kebau [SIC] horn, and are joined by butted iron mail.
These armours were worn with brass helmets closely resembling the European burgonet, introduced by the Portuguese."

"Mail and plate coat (baju lamina)  Philippine, Moro, 19th century
This example is entirely of brass, the plates joined by butted mail, and the fittings of silver.
In form it closely resembles the armours worn throughout the Islamic world from the 14th-17th centuries,
and was probably introduced by Muslims."
