"rgod conscript soldiers of the Tibetan empire. Rgod served for a fixed term in the regiment raised from the stonsde. In 654 the Tibetan population was formally divided into rgod soldiers and gyung workers. A similar division may have been applied as early as the reign of Namri Songtsen, since the stonsde system was already in operation."
